The Duluth Police Department's newest class of officers includes some familiar names in the Northland law enforcement community.

The seven new officers sworn in Thursday afternoon at the Public Safety Building include a fifth-generation law enforcement officer, the son of a recently retired Duluth cop and a handful of Northland residents.

Among them is Richard LeDoux, a Duluth native following in the footsteps of his great-great grandfather, his great-grandfather and his great-uncle, all of whom served with and retired from the Duluth Police Department. His uncle, Mike LeDoux, is a current member of the Minnesota State Patrol
