Milwaukee police on Monday released the identifies of victims of two of the most recent homicides in the city, though they have yet to identity a woman whose charred remains were found in an alley.
The three homicides on Friday and Saturday bring the city's total to 99 for the year so far.
Willis Brownlee, 39, of Milwaukee was shot dead at about 2 p.m. Friday in the 2700 block of N. 39th St. Two other men also were shot and wounded in the incident and were treated at a hospital.
Police said they're continuing to search for suspects in the shooting.
On Saturday night, Earthley Grant, 36, was stabbed to death in a fight that occurred around 10:50 p.m. in the 900 block of W. Hadley St.
A 54-year-old Milwaukee man was taken in custody, and police will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
In the Monday release, police noted that they have not yet identified the charred female body discovered by neighbors in an alley in the 3200 block of N. 25th St. at about 6:35 a.m. Saturday.
Milwaukee police are investigating the incident as a homicide, they said in a statement Saturday afternoon.
