The True News USA news crew is safe and sound... having been submerged deep under the waters of Lake Michigan overnight.

The thunderstorms are expected late Tuesday in the Chicago area after approximately 2 to 4 inches of rain fell during storms Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday morning is expected to be relatively calm, but chances of more storms will increase throughout the afternoon, said meteorologist Ben Deubelbeiss.

The most severe weather likely will hit late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, he said.

A Monday evening flash flood warning from the National Weather Service ran from 9:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. for east-central Cook and DuPage counties.

The CTA suspended service on the Pink Line between its Pulaski and 54th/Cermak stops due to flooding, according to the agency's official Twitter account.
