It's all the fault of the mean evil white police!
The arrests come less than a week after Anthony Costner, 24, and his wife Catherine, 22, were found fatally shot inside of their car, leaving their terrified daughter alone with their bodies.
Catherine's mother told local reporters that the couple had received a call for help in the middle of the night from someone they knew when they set out.
But now Powder Springs police say they planned to meet their would-be killer, with drugs suspected of being involved.
Roy Hicks, 39, of Smyrna was arrested two days after the Aug. 9 shooting and charged with their murder as well as aggravated assault and cruelty to children.
A second suspect, 22-year-old Demarco Thomas of Marietta, was collared on Friday. His charges include violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and concealing the death of another.
"This was not a random crime," Chief of Police John Robison said at an afternoon press conference. "The victims had planned to meet with Hicks prior to the murders."
The couple's daughter was found unharmed, something Robison called "a miracle."
"She's OK. She's now with family and being well taken care of," he said.
