Info Post

Dear True News USA--not sure how to contact you, other than thru the comments section, but a friend of mine told me her neighbor Harry Smith of Wood River Dr. in Niles, Il. was killed last week by a drunken driver who was supposedly a VERY high level Chicago Police Officer. Mr Smith himself was a retired Lincolnwood Police officer. His obit has been in the Tribune and services were held at Haben Funeral Home in Skokie. All of this has been kept very quiet and there has been no news or TV reports of this accident. Can you shed any light on this, and find out why this has been covered up?

WE HAVE AN ANSWER:

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Harry Smith, 66, of the 6600 block of Wood River Drive, Niles, was involved in a traffic accident on the 5200 block of Devon at 11:20 p.m. Thursday. He was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Friday. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

Smith was a Lincolnwood police officer with 33 years on the force before retiring in 2009.

Chicago police said 58-year-old William Cerny, of the 5800 block of Kirby Avenue, Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence and misdemeanor negligent driving. Police said those charges could be upgraded.

Cerny has a court date set for Monday, Sept. 14 in Chicago traffic court at the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington.

THE DRIVER - 58 YEAR OLD WILLIAM CERNY - IS NOT A CHICAGO POLICE OFFICER...
