FLORIDA - Brevard Sheriif's Deputy who was serving a search warrant as part of a prostitution investigation, is in critical condition after a shootout

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Brevard County Sheriff's Office deputy, who was serving a search warrant as part of a prostitution investigation, is in critical condition after a shootout, investigators said.

"We are still very early in the investigation and we’re trying to put the pieces together of what took place tonight," Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said. "It’s just crazy to me somebody would open fire on our deputies.  They were clearly marked."
