The 100th reported shooting of the year in Aurora was reported on Thursday, after police found a bullet hole in the vehicle of a man they pulled over for speeding.

The gunfire damage was discovered by police during a traffic stop at 11:55 a.m. when Alexander Grullon, 19, 100 block of Root Street, was stopped for speeding.

When police ran Grullon's records they learned his driver's license had been revoked. They also learned that Grullon had a warrant out for his arrest in Cook County.

Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said that during the stop, officers noticed what appeared to be a bullet hole in Grullon's vehicle. When questioned about the damage Grullon told police that the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4 while the vehicle was parked on the 100 block of Root Street.
