ADDITIONAL UPDATE: FYI, The woman walked in on the shithead robbing her house in Lansing. The shithead was in Lansing thanks to a Dutch Reformed Church that bought a few empty homes in Lansing to house ex offenders. He didn't know her just that her home was a few houses away from his nest. To say that Lansing citizens are pissed would be an understatement. He raped her in the house then put her in the trunk of the car and drove to a few ATM's. He raped her again at Burns Harbor and poured gas on her and set her on fire. There are residents that are going to protest at the Dutch Reformed Church on Sunday.
Now, the 33-year-old career criminal with five felony convictions is in the Ottawa County Jail, accused of violating parole.
That may be the least of his worries.
Clay was charged in a Chicago federal court Monday with kidnapping and is awaiting extradition to Illinois on a felony offense that could put him behind bars for life. A detention hearing has been set for Friday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.
He's accused of abducting a woman from his Lansing, Illinois neighborhood, making a withdrawal on her debit card, raping her twice, strangling her unconscious and setting her afire near Indiana Dunes State Park before driving to Michigan.
The crime has sparked outrage in Illinois and Michigan; the brutality and randomness eerily similar to a 2009 incident in Grand Rapids that left one man critically injured. Wearing a black ski mask and armed with a handgun,Clay approached three men leaving Tini Bikini's Sports Bar on South Division Avenue at Oakes Street. "Empty your pockets,'' he told the three before shooting one in the head.
