BARRINGTON, IL- (Murder - Suicide) Harry Burroughs, 69, murdered his daughter, Kathryn Burroughs, 35, then committed suicide

Two people found dead in a Barrington home Tuesday were a father and daughter killed in an apparent murder-suicide, the Lake County coroner's office said Thursday.

Barrington Police and Fire departments were called to a home at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of North Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman dead, officials said.

Orlando Portillo, Lake County's chief deputy coroner, identified the deceased as Harry Burroughs, 69, and his daughter, Kathryn Burroughs, 35, who both lived at the home. A Wednesday autopsy determined that both died of asphyxia, Portillo said.

Kathryn Burroughs' death was classified as a homicide, and Harry Burroughs' death as a suicide, Portillo said.
