PROVIDENCE, R.I. — An 800-pound man got kicked out of a hospital in Rhode Island.
Steven Assanti checked in to get help for his eating addiction; he had hoped to trim down to 550 pounds, then get a gastric bypass operation that would help him lose even more weight.
He had lost his first 20 pounds when he decided to reward himself with some pizza.
When hospital officials in Providence found out about his delivery order, they gave him the boot, for violating the terms of his care.
So Assanti’s father has to drive him around in his SUV, looking for someplace else willing to treat his son.
