Retired N.J. firefighter Roger Lippincot, 79, burned to death while riding lawnmower that burst into flames

A retired New Jersey firefighter was burned to death while riding a lawnmower that erupted into flames.

Roger Lippincot, 79, was mowing the lawn at about 2:21 p.m. on Sunday when the lawnmower he was riding suddenly burst on fire, cops said.

Lippincot, a 50-year veteran member of the Springfield Township Fire Company, suffered severe burns across his body and died near the lawnmower on the front yard, New Jersey State Police told the Daily News.
