A skydiver died while texting Sunday morning after an accident in Ottawa, authorities said.

No information was available about the victim, but the LaSalle County Coroner's Office was called to the scene, according to Corporal Dave Woolford of the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office.

About 9 a.m., someone at Skydive Chicago, 3215 E. 1969th Rd., called for an ambulance because a skydiver suffered a "hard landing," said Woolford.

About an hour later, sheriff's deputies were called to the scene and as well as the coroner's office.

"It’s still active," said Woolford at 11:30 a.m. of the scene.

A spokeswoman for Skydive Chicago said she had no information about the incident.
