Woman’s face cut during robbery on Loop Blue Line platform

(CHICAGO) A black man with a long rap sheet is in custody after a woman was cut on her face during a robbery on the Clark and Lake Blue Line platform in the Loop early Friday.

About 4:05 a.m., the 23-year-old woman was cut on her face during a robbery, police said. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was expected to be treated and released.

The suspect, a 48-year-old man, took the woman’s phone and ran off, police said. A good Samaritan followed the man from the platform and called police, updating them on his location.

The man was taken into custody a short time later, police said.
