A 28-year-old Milwaukee man accused of shooting at a Glendale police officer after stealing a Porsche was charged Thursday with five felonies, including attempted homicide.
Deandre Willie Wise also faces charges of armed robbery, operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, fleeing an officer and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In interviews with police after his arrest, Wise described himself as a car enthusiast who thought he could "zoom off" with the car and "get somewhere where somebody paid me enough money that I wouldn't have to look back," according to the complaint.
Prosecutors say Wise stole a Porsche at gunpoint from a Concours Motors employee while on a test ride Saturday afternoon, setting off a police chase in Glendale.
The employee was driving the 2013 Porsche Panamera — valued at $91,660 — because Wise did not have a license with him, when Wise crawled into the back seat and pointed a gun at the employee, according to the criminal complaint.
Wise ordered the employee to stop and get out of the car in the 1700 block of W. Mill Road, where a resident saw what happened and called 911, the complaint says.
