More than 125 spectators packed the goat and poultry barn at the Lake County Fair Thursday to see who would walk away the 2015 goat milking champion.

Lake County Sheriff John Buncich successfully defended his title, pulling ahead of the field of first-time milkers early in the three-minute milk-off to win the challenge for the third year in a row.

Buncich managed to collect 45.7 ounces of milk from his goat with the assistance of his coach, Emma Carrillo, 13, of Lowell, despite losing about half his bucket early on when the goat kicked. The sheriff joked early on he would retire if he was able to continue his winning streak, but may have had a change of heart after the win.
