A 6-year-old boy riding in a church bus died on Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle swerved off the road and rolled over off eastbound I-70 highway in Indiana, police said.

The crash threw Jacob Williams from the vehicle at around 4:10 p.m., and the careening bus fell over on top of him, according to the Indiana State Police. Officials with the Hancock County Coroner’s Office pronounced the boy dead at the scene roughly 20 miles east of Indianapolis, police say.

The driver of the bus, Charles Goodman, 53, has an active warrant on his record and was allegedly operating with a suspended license, cops said. Eleven other passengers suffered injuries in the accident, which police said “appears to be a result of driver error” rather than any mechanical failure.
