A 21-year-old colored man with a checkered past was fatally stabbed at 7700 South Kedzie

A 21-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the Ashburn neighborhood Monday evening, Chicago police said.

The man was found stabbed in the chest in the 7700 block of South Kedzie Avenue about 7:20 p.m., said Officer Nicole Trainor, a police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are treating it as a homicide, according to police spokesman Officer Thomas Sweeney.

Police News Affairs had no further information to release, Trainor said.
