Northshore Suburban Police Departments group together to shake down white bicyclists for money generating citations
Bicyclists Jason Ziomek and Michael Bailey had never met before Tuesday, but their paths crossed while they were completing their cycling regimens.
Almost simultaneously, the two cyclists breezed through a stop sign at a Highland Park intersection where Sgt. Chris O'Neill was specifically watching out for violations.
The two bike riders had just circled around the Fort Sheridan loop and were traveling south — Ziomek heading back to Wilmette, Bailey to Evanston — when O'Neill saw them travel through a stop sign at Patten and Whistler roads.
